A Collective of Elder Voices
In ancient Chinese philosophy, the “Tao” is often translated as “The Way” or “The Path.” It represents the natural, spontaneous process of the universe—the flow of water, the changing of seasons, and the inevitable unfolding of life. Getting older is the natural process of being human.
To live in harmony with the Tao is to accept that change is the only constant. Aging is not a deviation from this path; we have been aging since our embryonic stage of life. We didn’t just start aging at 65! Elderhood holds the potential for profound greatness, provided we navigate its unique challenges with our eyes and hearts wide open.
While the Tao serves as our guiding metaphor, we are not suggesting we are Taoists. We are simply intrigued by the idea of the Tao as a meaningful pathway. This blog is an inclusive space that appreciates wider spiritual, secular, and philosophical wisdom.
Join our dynamic dialog with Elders who speak with honesty, humor, and insightfulness about aging, loss, opportunities, the art of staying mindful, and experiencing joie de vivre (joy of life). In addition to posts from your hosts, Jeff Jerebker and Gail Meehan, you will regularly hear from a selective collective of elder voices sharing curated reflections and lived wisdom.
